Celebrity Prenuptial Agreements

Despite the increasing popularity of prenuptial agreements, especially among the wealthy, not everyone decides to get one. Take a look at some of the celebrities in the news lately, either for divorce or marriage. You might be surprised at who got a prenuptial agreement and who did not.

Rosie O’Donnell Prenuptial Agreement

Rosie got married in June, and had her new wife sign a prenuptial agreement. She was reportedly quite fair when it came to the document, ensuring that her wife would be well taken care of in the event of divorce. However, Rosie has made it clear that if her wife cheats, she will not get anything in the divorce. Her wife must be fine with that stipulation since she signed the document before the wedding.

Jennifer Aniston’s Prenuptial Goes Unsigned, Leaves her at Huge Risk

Jen is worth about $120 million, in stark contrast to her fiancé Justin Theroux’s reported $10.5 million. Originally, it was reported that she was insisting on a prenup. However, it now appears she is not signing one because she believes this is true love and she therefore does not need to plan for the worst. Of course, financial advisers have urged her to sign a prenup, but she has made the decision not to.

Dr. Paul Nassif and Adrienne Maloof

The two filed for divorce in July. So far, the divorce has not been too messy or in the spotlight, likely because there is a prenup that both have acknowledged and do not appear to be contesting. Hopefully this case can be closed nearly as quickly the divorce of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and the prenup should help with that.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise

Speaking of this couple, most people have been made aware of the prenup that left Katie with very little after the divorce. However, fortunately for her, she did get to keep the lavish gifts from Tom, including expensive purses and jewelry. When you combine these with both child support from Tom and her own fortune, she will likely be fine as she raises her daughter Suri.

Kenny G. Prenuptial

The musician filed for divorce from his wife in August. There is a prenup in place. This is fortunate for Kenny since he is worth about $50 million.

Evelyn Lozada and Chad Johnson

You probably read about their divorce in August. The good news is that there a prenuptial agreement in place. There are no obvious problems with it that would result in it being contested at this point, but of course the divorce is not over just yet.
