Mr. Perskin explains how an order of protection against your spouse can stop any physical or emotional abuse.

If you feel threatened by either your husband or your wife it is important that you get an order of protection, because if you get an order of protection, generally in most cases if you were feeling threatened after either your husband or your wife gets served with that order of protection—the intimidation, the threats—will stop. If the intimidation or the threats don't stop, somebody is going to get arrested. It is unacceptable for either your husband or your wife to intimidate you either physically or emotionally.
