New Reality Show Exposes Messy High Net worth Divorce Cases

A new reality show, Divorce Wars airing on March 29 th, is exposing the realities of high net worth divorces, exploring the battlefield of divorce and the techniques used to win the divorce war.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 out of every 3 first marriages will ultimately end in divorce, and for some this means that millions are at stake in the decision to marry.

This show portrays the reality of what happens when there is a lot of money at stake and the battles for power and control when the union of marriage gets broken down.

Examples of cases through are portrayed through the eyes of high net worth couples who create nightmare scenarios during the divorce process. One case includes a Connecticut woman who framed her ex husband for child pornography, as well as the high profile case of Justine and Elon Musk, co-creator of Paypal and CEO of Tesla Motors, along with the case  of a divorcee who fought an 18-year battle to turn an initial  $750,000 divorce settlement into an eventual $15 million.

Divorce lawyers specializing in high net-worth cases weigh in on what it takes to win the divorce war when it comes to high net worth cases.

The show includes interviews and opinions of divorce attorneys with suggestions to viewers about how to protect their assets before entering divorce and also what to do when divorce is imminent and there are millions at stake.

The main suggestion is that no matter how unromantic is seems, a prenuptial agreement is a must. It is not about a lack of love and trust, but facing the reality that 33% of marriages end in divorce and setting up a practical way to deal with that if it should occur.

It appears that the lesson to be learned is that if you believe in the institution of marriage, then you must also believe in the institution of divorce and keep that in mind when entering into a binding contract that could be very costly.
